Winemaker’s house in Ollon

Customer request: Living in a relatively old winemaker’s house, with poorly positioned switches and no possibility of updating the already built-in electrical system, the tenants wanted to improve their comfort by automating certain lights and electrical outlets.

In an effort to save energy, they also wanted to be able to turn off the entire house at once (electrical appliances and lights) as well as get an overview of energy consumption.

Kitchen

Only one switch was available to turn on the kitchen light. This poorly positioned switch forced the customers to turn off the light, cross the kitchen, and then climb the stairs in the dark to reach the bedrooms. To overcome this problem, we have installed a motion sensor that turns on the light according to the presence of people and the ambient light.

Corridor 1st floor

The lighting from the corridor to the first floor was connected to a relay module placed behind the switch at the bottom of the stairs. Thanks to this, customers can turn on this light before going upstairs. In addition, it is possible to turn off this lighting with the general switch-off.

Bedside lamp

The bedside lamp switch was replaced by a switch controlled by the FIBARO central unit. It is now possible to turn the lamp on and off both through this switch and by the remote control placed at the entrance of the room.

Electrical outlet control

Several electrical devices in the living room were connected to electrical outlets controlled by the FIBARO power plant. This allows customers to turn off the power on these devices when they are away or when they go to sleep. It is also possible to directly follow the power consumption of the devices connected to these sockets.

Room remote control

A remote control has been attached to the entrance of the room. This makes it possible to manually activate Night Mode or Normal Mode as well as to switch the bedside lamp on and off.

Main switch

At the entrance to the house, a main switch turns off all lights and electrical appliances and activates the absent mode when the customers leave the house.
